Hi there! My name is Laurene & I founded Calypso Photography in 2012. I am a photographer based out of Wilmington, NC.
I graduated from UNCW with a BA in Studio Art. I always loved photography as a child; I often had my friends dress up and model for photos. While in college, I developed an interest in black and white film photography. I also became interested in alternative photographic processes. I love photographing families, couples, engagement sessions, babies, & Pets -My favorite of all! (I do the photography for a local animal rescue based out of Elizabethtown, NC (A Shelter Friend) <-- Check them out! I also do weddings and am a destination wedding photographer!

Along with portrait photography, I am very fascinated with Americana and Southern icons- they are a focus of my film photography. I'm very active in the art community. I am a die-hard red sox fan as you can see in my headshot! I love to spend time with my dog family, traveling, the outdoors, and volunteering with the animal rescue groups in the area.
